TraffickProofSC backpack giveaway set for Aug. 1

The Lowcountry Human Trafficking Task Force will be handing out backpacks from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, in Hampton as part of TraffickProofSC, a statewide campaign to educate and raise awareness surrounding human trafficking.

TraffickProofSC is the overarching prevention education initiative that will begin with a four-part curriculum specifically for high school students. It is designed as an age-appropriate tool to educate and empower youth. The high school curricula will be available beginning Sept. 1.

We expect a good crowd, thanks to the Hampton Police Department, which is hosting its annual National Night Out event at 608 First Street West, Hampton.
